Central Lab - Beirut

  • The Central Lab in Beirut is made up of three different laboratories, all in one establishment. The first is for food safety, the second for water safety and the third for drug testing and safety. Each conducts a series of tests to certify that products put in the market are safe for consumption. The prevailing concept behind the design was pixilation of the façade in relation to visual transparency and light filtration. Depending on the need for privacy and sunlight the programs were stacked from bottom to top, the resulting façade is a pixilated gradient from opaque to transparent respectively.
