Founder & Chairman

Abdulwahed Chehab built a distinguished reputation for himself during the decades of building LDRS.

After achieving a B.A in Architecture, a B.Sc. in City Planning, and a Masters of Urban Planning from the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) accredited faculty of architecture and engineering at Beirut Arab University (BAU), Abdulwahed established his local design & engineering office in 1979 in Lebanon.  In 1991, he founded LDRS, to shift operations from a local design and engineering office into a scalable design & management company, with a vision to design for a better future across the MENA region and the rest of the world.

Since founding LDRS, Abdulwahed has led the significant transformation and growth of the company, delivering a competitive advantage in the planning, design, and engineering of projects. His vision drove our expansion to several markets in the MENA region, where we established a leading approach in the design and management of public and private projects, including urban master plans, residential developments, hospitals, terminals, educational facilities, offices, incubators, public infrastructures, heritage sites, civic & cultural buildings, and more.

Abdulwahed has been nominated for several awards including the prestigious Aga Khan Award.

In addition to his leadership at LDRS, Abdulwahed is a Founding Member and President of Development for People and Nature Association (DPNA), a non-governmental independent organization based in Lebanon which promotes sustainable development for people and place. He is also a professor at the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) accredited faculty of architecture and engineering at Beirut Arab University (BAU).
